Public Address and Voice Alarm

IGB provides a diverse and comprehensive service to the audio communication industry, specifically in the area of Public Address (PA) and Voice Alarm (VA).

Through investigation and analysis, both in the field and utilising PC-based modelling tools, IGB can assist in the specification of a voice alarm system in accordance with the relevant standards.

IGB will apply professional, modern techniques to ensure that an installation will perform the task required and will meet specific requirements by taking into account how the system will be used. The design of such a system takes place in two stages.

Stage one in the design of a sound system examines the architecture in which the system will live. IGB can predict and measure reverberation time in order to identify the constraints of the design. Wherever necessary, additional absorption can be specified to reduce the reverberation time to an acceptable length for the purposes of the sound system design.
Stage two utilises PC-based modelling techniques to provide a system layout. Using the model, loudspeaker placement and tapping can be readily altered allowing direct comparison of a number of potential schemes. The model also allows various room acoustic parameters to be predicted. Such parameters include coverage, sound pressure level and Room Acoustics Speech Transmission Index (RASTI).

IGB has a full compliment of measurement and analysis equipment which can be used to assess parameters such as sound pressure levels and perform RASTI testing of existing systems already installed. IGB is also able to offer a comprehensive commissioning service where a number of parameters are measured in accordance with a performance specification.

IGB also offers a cost effective Design Verification Service where existing loudspeaker layout designs can be independently verified for compliance with standards and specifications.
